Last week we met the creator of War and Aether, this week we’re diving deep with the party! These party members are our current game testers while Alex (Zubie) develops new tabletops/expansions.
Scroll through and read about how each of these party members got into tabletops!

How did you get into Tabletops?
Alex Shreve: What got me into tabletop in the first place was about 7-8 years ago. We played a Christmas one-off session at Brandon’s house where we did Pathfinder. I still remember that session in great detail to this day and I still get that same feeling of excitement every time we play all this time later
Brandon Norfolk: Whelp I wish I had a better answer for ya. If I recall, Shreve really wanted to play, so Andegoo [Andrew], Shreve, Zubie, and me played Pathfinder. Then one day we played War and Aether and I really liked that. Realistically they were the main reason I played though.
Emma Wyman: It’s kind of a funny story. Throughout high school and early college I’ve heard a lot about tabletops and role playing games through friends, media, and various other sources. I always had an interest in trying out different tabletops but I wasn’t really sure where to start when it came down to it and it seemed that EVERY person I talked to had their party full or that their campaign ended and their “resident game master” was on a hiatus. I officially got my start into tabletops in the summer of 2022. Zubie approached me about a new game he developed set in a victorian like era with a unique magic system. I was sold. I got to play a few sessions and then I went back to college. Not gonna lie, the going back and forth with college really sucked because I could only come home a weekend or so a month and it seemed that every single time I came back we were on a completely new tabletop and I had to play catchup. One session I would be playing a sci-fi tabletop, the next a western, and so on and so forth. As much whiplash as I got that year, it did help me really narrow down the basics of how to develop a character. Now, I’m out of school (thank goodness!) and part of an amazing party with a consistent schedule. I know that I still have more to learn but I find that every week I feel a bit more confident in my choices for my character and I have fun with the game more and more.
Mac Thielges Boeck: I got into tabletops through my friendship with Zubie. My weekends were newly free around the time a spot opened up in the group and I decided I should try it. I had played games like RuneScape and Skyrim before so I figured I would like it. I was right, I really enjoyed playing. So much so that I now try to get others to join in.
Rob Hammel: My little brother introduced me to DnD 3.5 and I was hooked.
Thomas Norfolk: I'd always heard of tabletops, mostly Dungeons & Dragons, as some sort of nebulous thing that I didn't know much about. Eventually I found a show on YouTube called High Rollers and started listening to them while I worked and that got me interested in playing myself. I didn't know anyone who actually played at the time so I bought the core books and read them all, and reached out to a group of friends and started DM'ing my own games, after a few sessions of that and a full campaign later I finally got the chance to be a player in Zubie’s tabletop and have been enjoying that for years now.
